Bangladesh’s women cricket team beat Pakistan
Rumana Ahmed and Lata Mondal steered Bangladesh Women to a 43-run win in their first ODI against Pakistan Women in Cox’s Bazar.
The victory at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium which made its international debut on Tuesday help the hosts to go one up in the two-match series.
This was the women’s third ODI win and their first against Pakistan. The second and final match will be played at the same venue on Thursday.
Sent in to bat first at the, Bangladesh women were all out for 152.
The hosts were 33-4 at one point before Rumana took things in her hand to steer the side out of trouble.
She put 31 runs together with Lata and later added 36 more with Shaila Sharmin to put up 100 for five.
Despite regular wickets, Nuzhat Tasnia’s steady batting helped the home side to reach the 150-mark.
Qanita Jalil was the tourists’ best bowler with 3 for 26.
In reply, the visitors could only reach the 100-mark riding on Asmavia Iqbal’s 86-ball 40 after being reduced to 63 for eight.
Lata gave away 35 runs for her four wickets while Jahanara Alam took three to skittle the visitors out for 109 in 44.1 overs.
